Welcome to the world of Dungeons and Dragons! Make yourself at home and enjoy the ride!
The High Forest is a remnant of the days of old, when Elves, Giants, and Dragons used to rule the world. It is a vast region of old forest growth with the Nether Mountains to the north of it and the High Moor to the south. In the west is the Evermoors, and the east holds the Anauroch desert. Along its eastern border is the Delimbiyr Vale and through that flows the Delimbiyr River.
North of the Delimbiyr River lies the Savage Frontier, this did not hold the High Forest or the nation of Luruar. It is a landscape that is compromised of farmlands and settlements of miners and loggers.
Luruar, also known as the Silver Marches, is a confederation of cities in the northern part of Faerûn. It is currently under the leadership of Alustriel Silverhand, the former ruler of Silverymoon. This landmass consists of Silverymoon, Citadel Adbar, Deadsnows, Jalanthar, Quaervarr, Citadel Felbarr, Everlund, Mithral Hall, and Sundabar. It's primary goal is to protect the north from the ever-growing horde of Orcs. It is bordered by the Anauroch Desert to the east, the High Forest to south, the Savage Frontier to the west, and the Spine of the World mountain range to the north.
The Sword Coast North is compromised of rugged hills, dangerous mountain ranges, and very dense forests. While home to several prominent cities, the most prominent are the cities of the Lords' Alliance.
Known more commonly at the City of Splendors, but also as the Crown of the North, Waterdeep is the most important and influential city in the north... perhaps in all of Faerûn. It is considered part of the Western Heartlands, regardless of it being 150 miles north of Daggerford.
